Assisting in test planning and test management reporting Running and maintaining regression test scripts Strong Database knowledge Able to write complex SQL Queries Strong API testing Knowledge Strong JAVA knowledge This position will involve hands-on test build /execution in the financial domain working as part of a highly motivated team. It is a highly technical position and will require strong knowledge of JAVA, SQL, stored procedures and other data manipulation technologies. The ability to build custom test tools would be a considerable advantage, as would knowledge of financial services. Duties & Accountabilities Work with the QA Lead/QA Manager in Markit India and the Product QA Manager to meet product test requirements to the highest standards Prepare test strategies, test plans, test scripts and test cases based on functional specifications and user requirements Liaise with development and the business to ensure deadlines are met Execute manual system tests and identify those that can be automated for regression purposes - assist with the development and maintenance of automated regression test suites Ensure defects and incidents are identified, prioritized and dealt with, and that any new versions of software are released in a controlled and timely manner Understanding and ability to apply software Testing techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, path analysis etc. ) is essential. Good understanding of various stages of testing and how different techniques are used Experience in interpreting the results of both manual and automated test cases. Good understanding of relational databases, SQL, stored procedures and other data manipulation technologies. Understanding XML files and interpreting results provided in the format. Knowledge of ALM and Jira Strong Knowledge of JAVA and frameworks like Junit, TestNG. & DbUnit Knowledge and experience of financial markets Demonstrated ability to work in a globally distributed software development team.
