SQL DBA- Mumbai Summary: The person joining at L2 level will be responsible for basic troubleshooting during daily operation and also hands and eye coordination. Retain ownership of customer issues until resolved, escalated or accepted by another individual. Deal with customers in a professional and courteous manner which keeps them informed and offers value on a daily basis. Display an understanding and involvement in a medium sized customer or business unit within your team in the following areas: account knowledge, contact point, meeting attendance, document ownership. Tasks: Respond to cases logged by Service Desk and Automated Ticketing. Adhere to SLA response and resolution times and ensure cases are regularly updated. Compliance to customer change management policy and processes Prepare customer incident reports. Prepare monthly customer reports. Assist with management of problems and escalations. Install / Configure / Manage SQL Servers. Upgrade from sql server 2000/ 2005 to 2008 / 2012 Knowledge of clustered environment & able to configure it Create / Manage / Tune - Production / test / development databases. Configuring and Managing Linked Server, Log Shipping & Mirroring. Knowledge on DR technologies Performing Database Maintenance Activities Troubleshoot query / procedures Monitoring CPU, Memory Usage, and Performance monitoring. Define sound Backup and Recovery Policies. SQL Server Security - Create & Manage Logins / User / Roles Monitor / Troubleshoot blocking-deadlocking Problem detection & troubleshooting. Ensure that proper documentation exists.
